Hmm...this in kind of bunkish. If we are counting a medium of commerce as a sector then credit cards and debit cards would be 25% of GDP or higher.

Is this a global chart? Healthcare spending in the U.S. is over 16% of GDP - so not sure where the underlying stats are coming from. Government spending alone (just on healthcare) is 8.2%. Page 10 of Mary Meeker's outstanding report from early last year - USA, Inc. http://bit.ly/w07mcH By most calculations - Government spending on Healthcare is about 50% of total - ergo - total as a percentage of GDP is well over 16%.
