Forget about design for a second and the hideous appearance of the tool above. If you could only choose one tool to take into the unknown wilderness which would you pick (click through to see the other example)? I've spent my career developing world class software as "point tools".. but in today's ever changing world, sometimes it's easier to say "go with X" and know it will cover the bases than it is to try to explain all the tools a friend should/could use, when to use them and then training and testing to see if they've got it figured it out.
