PG on bad shit and giving up.

So I'll tell you now: bad shit is coming. It always is in a startup. The odds of getting from launch to liquidity without some kind of disaster happening are one in a thousand. So don't get demoralized. When the disaster strikes, just say to yourself, ok, this was what Paul was talking about. What did he say to do? Oh, yeah. Don't give up.

This doesn't just apply to startups.
dude.... good post! Chin up..... you guys have a great product, a great team.....you'll get to liquidity, I'm sure of it!
John, this post actually wasn't posted specifically directed towards Posterous even though it's Garry's post. They're doing great AFAIK.

However, Dustin is right, this applies to... well, anything hard in life that you're working towards. That's the whole point of anything great in life. Almost all the awesome things in life are NOT easy. They are hard, fraught with obstacles and hardships and disasters. If all the hard things were really easy, they wouldn't be awesome and everyone would be doing them (like startups, or at least successful startups).

Very true.

I like to focus on the positives though :-) Here's my favorite part of that essay: "It would be pretty cool if merely by staying in regular contact with us you could get rich. It sounds crazy, but there's a good chance that would work."
